About us

The Dickens Fellowship

The Dickens Fellowship is a world-wide organisation, founded in 1902, for those who share an interest in the life and works of Charles Dickens. The Fellowship is based in London at the Charles Dickens Museum, with branches throughout the world. Our branch in Broadstairs was formed in 1937.

Charles Dickens had very close links with Broadstairs: he called it “Our English Watering Place”. He visited the town many times and worked on some of his most important novels here.

Our Broadstairs branch meets regularly throughout the year with social events, talks from prominent Dickensian authors and academics, outings, an annual dinner and a book club. We are a very friendly group and always welcome new members and visitors.

If you would like more information or would like to join the Fellowship you can use the form on the Contact Us page or email us at info@dickensfellowshipbroadstairs.com.

You can also come along to one of our meetings. The Whats On page shows our meeting programme.
